About

EARLY YEARS

Daisy Palomo is a 5th generation Texan who was born and raised in Dallas. She overcame many obstacles growing up in Oak Cliff by crushing the status quo and excelling in honors classes, student government and graduating top 10 in her class from Sunset High School. Her drive stems from her mother who was the first Hispanic woman to work as a bus operator for DART in 1980. Being that she was also a single parent, Daisy from a young age saw the importance and the example of her mom, instilling a strong work ethic. Not being able to afford or have access to childcare, she would bring her youngest daughter on her routes. Daisy in essence “grew up” on the front seat of a DART bus. Her mother retired as a bus driver after 27 years with DART and left a lasting positive impact in the community and with her children.

EDUCATION

Being the first in her family to attend college, Daisy received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2000 and a Master’s in Business Administration in 2006, both from University of Texas at Arlington. With hard work and determination, she earned her college degrees while working full time and raising three children on her own. Daisy’s academic journey also included weekly commutes from College Station to be back in Dallas with her newborn son. Balancing family, work and school was key in completing her education, but the driving force of motivation was being able to provide for her children.

Daisy is a strong advocate for higher education and promotes opportunities available by sharing her success story with teens in Carrollton. She has addressed hundreds of students at Creekview High School, Early College High School as well as schools in the Dallas Independent School District. Daisy also serves as a class facilitator with Make It Count, formerly known as Bea's Kids - RESH 180 serving R.L. Turner and Ranchview High Schools. She believes that investing in this area will create productive citizens, raise our socio-economic standards and ultimately benefit our Carrollton communities.

PROFESSIONAL

Daisy is an integral part of the Sales Agency Programs team at American Airlines. Prior to this, she managed the Operations Analytics team for GameStop Corporate and worked for Toyota Motor North America Corporate offices for 5 years in Global Accounts Receivable. She also worked as an Executive Consultant for 5 years with Robert Half Management Resources. She has successfully established and operated several small businesses along with her husband. Daisy plans to bring her 20+ years of corporate and small business management experience to City Hall.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

My faith is at the core of who I am, and I believe salvation is a gift of God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. I believe the teachings of the Bible are relevant to today’s society and to traditional family values. I believe fully that the Holy Bible was divinely inspired and is the only written record of God’s revelation of Himself; and is the authority for how we should live. I am a Christian.
